BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY OPTION

Healthcare constantly evolves. More jobs are created each day with the advancement of medical technology and a continued increase in the elderly population.

In fall 2006, LSTC will add a new Biomedical Engineering Technology option for students. The new option will be part of the Electronics Engineering Technology program. This cutting-edge program will teach students how to repair and maintain equipment used by hospitals for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, job prospects in this field are rapidly expanding. The Missouri Economic and Research Center predicts an average of 52 openings in the state for technicians from 2002 to 2010.
