BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY OPTION
Healthcare constantly evolves. More jobs are
created each day with the advancement of medical technology and a continued
increase in the elderly population.
In fall 2006, LSTC will add a new Biomedical
Engineering Technology option for students. The new option will be part of the
Electronics Engineering Technology program. This
cutting-edge program will teach students how to repair and maintain equipment
used by hospitals for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, job
prospects in this field are rapidly expanding. The Missouri Economic and
Research Center predicts an average of 52 openings in the state for technicians
from 2002 to 2010.
