Linn State Technical College is offering Dental Assisting Technology (DAT) starting August 2013 pending approval by the American Dental Association. The DAT program is located at the Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.
The DAT program equips you with the necessary skills and training to perform a variety of dental assisting responsibilities including instrument transfer, mixing restorative materials, taking impressions, providing oral health instruction and performing coronal polishes on patients. Dental assistants also take and evaluate dental x-rays and perform dental laboratory procedures.
During this nine-month program you’ll complete clinical rotations in dental offices gaining real world experience in this progressive and dynamic healthcare profession. Upon successful completion of the program you will be eligible to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Examination to earn the designation of Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).
