and applications, and the potential expansion of nuclear power technology, this demand will remain high for years to come. The MNT program, which is located in Mexico, Missouri, at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC), offers students a unique opportunity to obtain state-of-the-art training that will put them in demand by any organization or business that handles radioactive substances including advanced manufacturing, medical facilities, research reactors, the nuclear power industry, hazardous waste removal companies, and government agencies. Job placement prospects are highly favorable and starting salaries reflect this high demand. Students will take general education classes through Moberly Area Community College (MACC).

Associate of Applied Science-Radiation Protection Option
Associate of Applied Science-Instrumentation and Control Option
Associate of Applied Science-Reactor Operations Option

Additional Application Requirements:

  • Submit an application for admission to both LSTC and MACC.

  • All applicants must submit ACT test scores. Check www.actstudent.org for ACT test locations, fees, and details for registering for the test. LSTC is a testing location and our test code is 5105.

  • Rank the Nuclear Technology degree options in order of preference (first, second, and third) on your LSTC Application for Admission. This will increase your chances of admission into the Nuclear Technology program in case your first degree option is full. Nuclear Technology degree options are Radiation Protection, Instrumentation and Control, and Reactor Operations.

  • Schedule an appointment to meet with a Nuclear Technology Instructor. Call 573.582.0817 extension 639.

Admission decisions will be made on November 30, March 1, and June 1. Applicants who have submitted all of the required items listed below will be reviewed after each of these dates.
