e tool technology is used to create the machinery and equipment that produce the product. The MTT program provides the student with the experience, knowledge, and proper judgment to select the necessary machining processes, plan the process, and setup and operate machine tools to create a part or product. Machinists use Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling machines, lathes, grinders, and Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment. Machinists also use standard machine tools such as drill presses and hand tools. Graduates from this program may be employed in manufacturing or custom work in companies of any size. A machinist can become a tool and die or mold maker. These are master crafts involving advanced uses of machine tools and attachments.

Additional Application Requirements:

  1. Submit the completed High School Attendance Record from signed by your high school counselor.  Transfer students and students who earned GEDs rather than high school diplomas do not need to submit the high school attendance record form.

  2. Include on your application any related experience you have to the Machine Tool Technology field.  This may include work experience or extra-curricular activities such as FFA, SkillsUSA, Boy Scouts/Eagle Scout, etc.

  3. One-page hand-written essay on the topic, “Why I want to be a machinist.”
