February is Career and Technical Education Month
Job Fair 2008 will be held on February 13, 2008. Information will
be available in January 2008.
Tips for Job Fair success:
- Research the companies that will be
represented at the Job Fair.
- Bring with you copies of your resume, a
smile, a strong handshake, a positive attitude, and a 30 second "sales
pitch" about your skills, abilities, education, and experience.
- It takes 30 seconds to make a first
impression. Make sure it is a good first impression by being clean and
neatly groomed. Dress in a conservative and professional manner and be
considerate of others when using perfumes and aftershave.
- Talk to many employers. Take this
opportunity to gather information about the company and the career field(s)
they target, as well as employment opportunities and internships.
- Be sure to ask for the employer's business
card. After the job fair follow-up on all leads. Send thank-you
notes to those employers you are interested in interviewing with.
Mock Interviews are held throughout the year and conducted by employers.
