Dear Friends of Linn State Technical College,

With an annual economic impact of almost $150 million to the state of Missouri and over 10,000 graduates, Linn State Technical College has faced challenges head-on and accomplished the extraordinary for 50 years. The successes of this young institution lend support to its legislatively mandated purpose to prepare students for profitable employment and a life of learning.

Investing in Linn State is a smart decision at all levels – state appropriations, corporate investments, private company contributions, federal and foundation grants, or individual donations – because the college has established a reputation of being able to stretch dollars for maximum efficiency. Every dollar invested in Linn State has a projected 9.1% return on investment. The benefits of that investment are visible in the alumni and the positive impact on business and industry who hire those graduates.

Missouri and the Midwest region deserve a technical college that ranks among the best nationally. To achieve this goal, the college continues a rapid pace of physical growth and program expansion; however, the cost to fully implement this goal more than exceeds current revenue sources. We are focused on identifying funds to assist with equipment needs in academic programs, faculty endowments or salary subsidies, enriching students’ college experience, providing students with much needed financial support through privately funded scholarships, establishing emergency funds for students, and creating legacy opportunities for our donors.

Your gift truly makes an impact. The gap between projected costs for critical projects and anticipated revenue from traditional public sources is broadening. Less than 30% of Linn State’s current revenues come from state appropriations. Like many of this state’s institutions of higher learning, public sources of revenue will not cover the costs associated with expansion and program enhancement at Linn State.
