Linn State hosts Merit Badge College

Linn State Technical College will host the Boy Scouts Merit Badge College on Saturday, July 31.  Over 350 Boy Scouts throughout the state of Missouri will attend and participate in a Merit Badge class earning one of the 21 merit badges needed to attain the Eagle Rank.
 
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.   The event will open with a flag ceremony.   The Merit Badge College will conclude at 3:30 p.m.
 
Merit Badges will be offered on a variety of subjects.  Merit Badges being offered include: animal science; archery; automotive maintenance; aviation; carpentry; citizenship in the community; citizenship in the nation; citizenship in the world; communications; computers; crime prevention; drafting; electricity; electronics; emergency preparedness; engineering; fingerprinting; fire safety; first aid; horsemanship; law; metalwork; music; personal fitness; public speaking; signaling; stamp collecting; and traffic safety.
 
This is the ninth year that Troop 17 from Linn, Missouri has held the Merit Badge College at Linn State Technical College.
  
With more than 35 programs, Linn State Technical College is Missouri’s only public two-year technical college with a statewide mission.   LSTC has campuses in Linn, Mexico and Jefferson City.  LSTC prepares students for profitable employment and a life of learning.
