LSTC Powersports Technology Program Receives EETC Accreditation

The Powersports Technology (PST) program at Linn State Technical College (LSTC) in Linn, Missouri has received accreditation by the Equipment and Engine Training Council (EETC).  The accreditation is effective for five years.

“I am very proud of the powersports program and LSTC,” stated Larry Neil, owner of Larry’s Motor Sports in Jefferson City and one of the 28 industry advisors for the program.  “The program is a win-win for all parties, students, LSTC and the powersports industry.”

This multilevel accreditation standards program was created by the EETC Education Committee to improve the quality and consistency of training offered at the high school, vocational school and college levels.  Through the use of industry developed standards, the graduating student will be prepared to enter the outdoor power equipment industry with the skills and values desired by employers.

“This accreditation is a significant external indicator of the program’s quality and was made possible through the faculty members’ hard work and dedication to excellence,” said Vicki Schwinke, LSTC Dean of Academic and Student Affairs.

The EETC was introduced in 1997.  There are over 450 members, including manufacturers, distributors, dealers, educational institutions, and associations.
