Educational opportunity for unemployed
Linn State Technical College is offering an Accelerated Welding Skills course for 10 displaced workers in the area. Funding was made available through the Division of Workforce Development to provide training to displaced workers.
Qualifying participants must have been laid off and are eligible to receive unemployment benefits. All tuition and fees are provided as a part of the program.
The course consists of 168 hours of training in blueprint reading, mig, tig, stick and oxy-acetylene welding. Classes will be held Monday and Wednesdays from 4pm – 9pm starting March 22, 2010 through July 19, 2010.
Class size is limited. A few openings are still available. Those interested should contact the Business and Industry Relations Department at Linn State Technical College by calling 573.897.5238.
